Beatriz Fernandes

My name is Beatriz Fernandes, I´m a 21-year-old recent design graduate from the University of Aveiro, in Portugal. Ever since I can remember I’ve always enjoyed drawing. In fact, it’s one of my favourite things to do, whether to ease my mind in my fantasy world or to simply sketch out an idea for a project. Besides drawing, I enjoy exploring monasteries, castles, and museums; these mystical locations are a big source of inspiration. I’m a huge fantasy and horror fan so I also enjoy reading books and playing games of those genres. Music is another one of my passions. I play the violin and the piano from time to time while imagining that I’m an elf playing in a forest.

I always strive to immerse people in a riveting experience with my work, which would, hopefully, allow them to escape their daily routines.

Inês Ferreira

My name is Inês Alves and I’m 20 years old. I just finished my first year in Design in Aveiro University. In high school I studied Product Design for two years and specialized in equipment, such as wood and metal. Last year I studied Architecture for one semester in the University of Porto, however I decided to develop my Design degree first.

I love nature and animals, that’s what mostly inspires me to create new things, I always try my best to reuse pieces that were thrown away in that process. I love working with wood and ceramics.

One of my favorite things to do is sketching objects, buildings and sometimes people, since I spend a lot of my time in public transports.

Apart from Design I love history, music and learning new things.

I am always dreaming with my headphones in.

Julie Riisberg Mikkelsen

I am an enthusiastic young designer from Denmark, age 23 currently finishing my master’s degree as an Industrial design Engineer. Through the education and my passion for design, I have gained knowledge of integrating both Design Thinking and product development into a iterative design process. Hereby leaning to structure the integrated design process and how to manage the different phases from problem identification to manufacturing.

My passion of designing is implementing the user and how their physical and psychological needs influence the product in behavior, aesthetics, and functions. I am often inspired by nature and animals in my design language, using Bionic as a design approach.

I am currently interning  at a simple startup company, where I have been focusing upon implementing business strategy and company identity into the early stages of the product development.

Magnus Schrøder Pedersen

As a master student in Architecture & Design at Aalborg University, I am trained in interdisciplinary methods with a variety of tools and approaches when designing. I am inspired when architecture becomes a conversation between the subject and the object, between the human body and the physical form. For me, good design and architecture is the combination of parts of which the outcome is better. The combination of environmental and social sustainability, restrictions and aesthetics, form and function, building and context.

My design strategy is a phenomenological approach based on inherent qualities and potentials ready to be seen and articulated as experiences and atmospheres which not only affects basic needs but also becomes a process to understand oneself and our relations with the surrounding world.

During the next semester, I will be having my internship at CUBO Architects in Århus, Denmark.

Patricia Overgaard Christensen

My name is Patricia Overgaard from Denmark. I am currently finishing my master’s degree as an Industrial Design Engineer. The focus is an integrated process of concept design, construction, and product development. Furthermore, the study is all about managing and structuring projects in all phases.

Alongside my studies, I am a part of a start-up company started in 2019 where we have developed several products in collaboration with different companies.

My professional involvements and a mindset of an engineer has led me to projects regarding my own designs in the perspective of manufacturing and design thinking.

My passion is product-design that unifies with my interest in art. My participation in different events with art has motivated me to combine and challenge the way of design thinking.

My name is Verónica Castro and I’m 22 years old. I live in Madeira island, which is known as the pearl of the Atlantic ocean.

I made my graduation at Madeira University in Design, and it made me understand that I’m passionated about graphic, communication and editorial design. Since I can remember I draw and when I grew up I decided to put more effort on doing it. Therefore, illustration is also an interest for me. I like to draw in various supports and with different materials, as colour pencils and oil paints.
